I just returned from a cruise through the western Mediterranean with my family. We went to celebrate several of our significant birthdays as a ‘reward’ for reaching these key thresholds. It was an amazing experience and a wonderful celebration.
On the topic of rewarding accomplishments, our ship’s passengers included an incentive trip for an international corporation. I spoke with the family of one of the achievers andthey described how they pushed their mom all year long to reach her sales goals so that they could go on the annual trip. Do you think this company’s incentive program is working? We all know that the family provides greater motivation than anything a boss could ever say or do.
