I am writing this post from my hotel room in Atlanta while onsite with one of my customers for their event. The meeting kicks off later this week so we are in the unpacking, setting up and having some healthy discussions on ways to improve our productivity (professionally and personally).
As a meeting planner, you have to be extremely organized and efficient. When you add all the business travel into the mix, it becomes a difficult task. From our discussions, I want to share the following technology tools have helped our group remain productive while away from my office. I’m hoping some of these apps can help you too:’
Dropbox – a free service that enables you to access your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. Never email yourself a file again!
Hootsuite – a social media management system. The system’s user interface takes the form of a dashboard, and supports social network integrations for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Foursquare, MySpace, WordPress, TrendSpottr and Mixi.
Evernote – a suite of software and services, designed for note taking and archiving. A “note” can be a piece of formatted text, a full webpage or webpage excerpt, a photograph, a voice memo, or a handwritten “ink” note.
Yelp – publishes crowd-sourced reviews about local businesses.
FlightTrack – color-codes your flights so you can quickly know whether to get out your boarding pass or grab a breakfast taco.
GateGuru – airport info & flight status app provides basic flight and arrival status in an attractive manner on flight cards. GateGuru’s prowess is providing ratings and reviews for restaurants, shops and services at about 125 airports around the world.
Uber – is a service to connect passengers with drivers of vehicles for hire. Customers use the app to request rides and track their reserved vehicle’s location.
ScannerPro – cut out the clutter and stop worrying about keeping track of receipts and papers. This system allows you to scan documents with a snapshot, convert them to PDFs and email them right away.
Hours Tracker – enables you to easily track the hours you spend on a project.
A Mobile Hot Spot – a paid service that allows you to use your cellular phone as a modem to connect your lap top computer to the Internet no matter where you are.
What suggestions do you have for your fellow meeting planners?
