5 Must-Haves in a Trusted Hospitality Industry Outsourcing Partner

As professionals in the meeting planning industry going through the largest challenge many of us have faced, one solution to consider is whether to outsource portions of your meeting and event needs. This is especially true to virtual options for the short-term and hybrid meetings for the foreseeable future.

In an effort to help answer this question, I am sharing an article written by Doug Ferrell with IntegraCore (dferrell@integracore.com). The points spelled out by Doug are targeted to the supply chain management industry. However, these tips can help us in the hospitality industry as we evaluate the outsourcing option and which partners to work with.

Many companies outsource at least some aspect of their business. Whether it is with a call center, product assembly or warehousing, outsourcing has become a familiar element of conducting business. It can be an attractive solution to otherwise daunting and expensive tasks. However, relying upon another business to dependably perform on your company’s behalf can be risky. Read on for five qualities your outsourcing partner must have.

  1. Look for a partner with multiple years of experience in the industry—one who has experienced growing pains, market volatility and has come out successful.
  2. Make sure they maintain high standards of service. Integrity, open communication, honesty and a highly competent, well-trained staff will give you peace of mind.
  3. Flexibility is part of doing business. An ideal outsourcing partner will be ready and able to adapt, overcome and successfully execute your company’s needs as they arise.
  4. State-of-the-art technology (and knowledge of how to use it) is important, particularly in fulfillment outsourcing. Accurate tracking, assured delivery dates, and the confidence that it is all being handled with state-of-the-art equipment and support will help you rest a little easier at night.
  5. You want to look for a partner that will reduce your costs. This may seem obvious, but your outsourcing partner needs to do what you would do; only better, faster and in a way that saves you money.

A valuable outsourcing partner will handle your products with the same integrity your company pours into manufacturing them.

These five points can apply to any industry…including those of us planning meetings and events. ConferenceDirect meets these qualities being suggested and are working with many clients to navigate the current environment.
